10th Monthly Operation Coordination Unit (OCU) Meeting

The 10th Monthly OCU (Operation Coordination Unit) meeting of the DEEP Project was held on 22.03.2023 with the participation of the European Delegation to Türkiye, Contracting Authority, End Recipient, Consortium Representatives, and OCU Members.

The hybrid meeting has been chaired by Mr. Salih Eminoğlu, Branch Manager of the Circular Economy Policies Branch Office, Circular Economy and Waste Management Department, and hosted by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. The activities carried out since the 9th OCU meeting were evaluated in the meeting which has an agenda that will further the vision of the project.  Moreover, the timetable for the upcoming activities was discussed.

During the meeting, the focus was on ongoing and planned activities within the scope of "Component 1: Researching Türkiye's Potential in the Context of the EU Circular Economy Model" and "Component 2: Developing a National Strategy and Action Plan Related to Waste and Resource Management Compatible with the EU Circular Economy Model." In this context, Circular Economy Network Analysis, Sectoral Impact Assessment, Assessment of adaptation to the EU Plastics Strategy, Roadmap on Single-use Plastics and Marine Litter, Assessment of Adaptation to the Revised Waste Related Directives of the EU Circular Economy Package activities were discussed.

Following this, project short videos were discussed in the meeting within the scope of “Component 3: Assessment of integrated waste management system in the context of EU circular economy package to foster waste prevention and separate collection”. A general evaluation of communication and social media activities was also conducted within the scope of “Component 4: Publicity Activities”.
