To reach the expected outputs, interrelated activities will be carried out under the components of the Project.

Component 1: Researching the Turkey’s Potential in the Context of EU Circular Economy Model

Under the first component, the process of comparing Türkiye’s current situation and the EU Circular Economy Model will be held during the transition to circular economy. These activities will be conducted within this framework:

• Conducting the analysis of the comparison between the EU Circular Economy Model and corresponding national component;
• Increasing the EU Circular Economy Model knowledge base in the field of waste and resource management;
• Conducting Circular Economy Network Analysis.

Component 2: Developing a National Strategy and Action Plan Related to Waste and Resource Management Compatible with EU Circular Economy Model

With the second component, the role of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change being the leader in coordinating and monitoring is supported in the process of the transition to the circular economy. These activities will be conducted within this framework:

• Preparation of National Strategy and Action Plan according to waste and resource management;
• Evaluation of the rapport of EU Circular Economy Model to EU Plastic Strategy and waste related revised legislation;
• Development of the general monitoring mechanism and the indicators.

Component 3: Evaluating the Integrated Waste Management System Intended to Support the Prevention of Waste Formation and Separate Collecting in the Context of EU Circular Economy Model

The development of evaluations, recommendations, infrastructures, economic instruments and alternative waste collecting models, and consequently any level of corporate/executive implementation capacity intended to enhance integrated waste management is mainly focused with Component 3. These activities will be conducted within this framework:

• Conducting a detailed analysis of current management system of recyclable wastes;
• Developing the local authorities’ capacity for them to have a well-functioning collecting mechanism for recyclable wastes;
• Evaluating and revising the implementation of the Zero Waste Regulations and related guide documents within the scope of a waste-free community and circular economy;
• Implementation of pilot studies by showing a model about source separation and reusing effectively.

Component 4: Promotion Activities

Promotion of the project and increasing the awareness of the theme that the project focuses on are aimed with the fourth component. These activities will be conducted within this framework:

• Preparation of Communication Strategy and Action Plan;
• Organizing an opening event;
• Designing the project website and managing the social media accounts;
• Creating an introduction film about the project and preparing other visibility materials;
• Conducting a closing meeting.
