Training on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to Support Monitoring in a Circular Economy, organised within the scope of the DEEP Project, was held in Ankara on 27-30 November 2023.
Ms. Sabriye Ayhan, Head of the Circular Economy and Waste Management Department, Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change, opened the training. In her speech, Ms. Ayhan emphasised the importance of YDA in environmental decision-making processes.
The training, attended by 40 experts from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation, and Climate Change, was organised in two groups. The first group completed their training on 27-28 November 2023, and the second group completed their training on 29-30 November 2023.
During the training, the participants were informed about the methodology for Türkiye's circular economy legislation preparation process, ISO standards, policy determination processes for plastic products in different sectors, and data on the LCA study carried out within the scope of DEEP Project for single-use plastics and alternatives. Participants were also informed about the National Life Cycle Database developed by TÜBİTAK MAM and the LCA studies on construction steel and raw steel, dyed cotton fabrics, cardboard and glass packaging, ceramic tiles and portland cement.
