Within the second component (Developing a National Strategy and Action Plan Related to Waste and Resource Management Compatible with the EU Circular Economy Model) of the "Technical Assistance for Assessment of Türkiye's Potential on Transition to Circular Economy" (DEEP Project) Sectoral Impact Assessment (SIA) was conducted from March 08th to 24th, 2023.

The SIA aimed to evaluate the effects of EU Circular Economy Action Plan activities on selected sectors in Türkiye. For this purpose, sector consultation surveys were prepared, and a visit program was organized for 25 companies operating in the seven priority sectors (Plastics, textiles, food and biomass, electronics and information-communications technology, batteries and vehicles, construction and demolition waste and buildings, packaging and packaging wastes).

In the meetings, the perspectives of companies regarding the impacts of actions included in the EU Circular Economy Action Plan on their respective sectors were discussed. Information was also collected about their perceptions of the measures and objectives under these actions.

With these visits carried out within the scope of SIA, the effects of the actions of the EU Circular Economy Action Plan were determined, and a comprehensive “Sector Visits Report” was prepared.
